Show us the simplicity of life,
Show us how to conquer strife.
Oh, the awesome price you've paid!
The wonderful foundation, You have laid.

To forgive us all, for our sins,
We're glad Your love never grows thin.
Lord we love You with all our heart,
And we hope we'll never part,

From the love that You're giving,
For You're the One who keeps us living.
Help us oh Lord to stand tall,
Help us so that we won't fall.

Keep us in Your loving grace,
That someday we may see Your face.
And know that things will be okay,
That with You, we may forever stay

Charles was no stranger to prison life. This was the third time he had been incarcerated in less than 2 years. The police knew him well.

Sharing a cell with drug users, thieves, rapists, and murderers, Charles was considered, according to Nepalese law, the worst of criminals. He had been arrested again and again for converting Buddhists and Hindus to Christianity. Anyone who was caught baptizing a new believer would be sentenced to death.

On the king's birthday, Charles was released from prison and he returned to his small house nestled in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains. His American friend Rick arrived as planned. They sat over a rickety table enjoying their bowls of rice with steamy vegetables, and gave thanks to the Lord for Charles' deliverance once more from jail. Then they discussed their next mission to bring the light of the gospel ... Read more »

..."...he walked to the front of the boat and shouted, 'I'm the king of the WORLD!!' Two thousand years before that line in the movie, Titanic, there was also a man. A man that was literally the King...Yet how did we treat him? With respect? With adoration? Or with hate and rejectiveness?"

.....The summer had been long and tiresome. Farm work was hard and the once soft Kentucky soil was dry and cracked, as though a tremor had shook the area. After a hard working day, I would often stay outside until the moon climbed high and the stars shyly sparkled. Sometimes I lay on the bank of our pond, watching the wonders beyond our world, while my dogs, Lassie and King, would playfully tug at my jeans. Some nights we'd wrestle, and others we would just sit in a big heap of fur and flesh - gazing at distant worlds.

My routine was a simple one - hard work during the day, calm and peaceful rest at night - but I knew it wouldn't last long. The previous year I had ... Read more »

I saw them hang Love on a tree.
I saw them brutalize and hurt Him badly.
I saw them slap, curse, and spit in His face.
But, Love remained Love and never did He retaliate.

Love stood as a lamb. He stood gentle, humble, and calm.
Love stayed silent, Love stayed still, even when His blood was about to be spilled.

Love did not think evil when He was wrongfully chastised.
Instead, Love expressed more love and humiliated Pride.

Why did Love do all of this for such a wretched people?
And why did He suffer such trouble?
why did Love send Love to die on a tree?
The answer is simple. Love had a deep affectionate Love for you and me.

Now before I break off, and before I end, let me reveal the name of Love, my friend.
His name is Jesus; God's Revelation of Love to men.

I was walking home one day alone from the bus stop when I heard footsteps behind me. I turned to look and nothing was there. I prayed and said "Lord, guide me home safely and lead my footsteps". I heard the footsteps once again behind me. I turned around and saw a man behind me. I ran all the way home and slammed the door behind me.

I was watching the 11:00 o'clock news later that night when I saw the same man posted for rape and murder of a 15 year old girl...the same age as me. I called the police immediately and told them my story. When they caught the man they asked why he didn't attack me too...his reply was simple..."why would I attack her when she had a man walking right beside her".

The police turned to me and asked," I thought you said you were alone" I said, "I guess I was wrong."

No matter what kind of predicament you may face, God is always there by your side. I was saf ... Read more »

When I walk down that long lonely trail,
I hear the singing of a song, and the telling of a tale.

The birds in the trees, they sing a familiar tune,
The animals utter the tale of ghosts on the moon.

As I walk along the trail with my trusted dog,
Not noticing or caring about the frog on the log.

It is very serene there - on a Sunday afternoon,
The start of a rabbit, or the stirring of a raccoon.

Here are my friends - the animals and the birds,
They say things -hard to express in mere words.

There's the ray of sunshine, peeking through the leaves,
And the buzzing and humming of a hive of bees.

If ever there was a place, which the Lord did not fail,
Then it was there - along that long lonely trail.

A lighthouse guides,
A lighthouse
warns of rocks, reefs, and currents.
A lighthouse serves as a beacon,
A beacon to guide others safely into port.

A lighthouse is built from strong material,
And reinforced with even stronger materials,
So that it may stand up to the all that may happen to it.
A lighthouse may vary in size, shape, or color.

A lighthouse gives off a light for all,
A light that will be bent by a lens into a powerful central beam,
So that it may shine a bright light to all things around it.
There is a keeper lives in the lighthouse,

To keep it clean and maintain it,
So that it may be tall and strong.
For a lighthouse ... Read more »

Let me tell you the story of how I let Jesus into my heart.

You see, before I met Jesus, my heart was a horrible place to be. The stench of hate was everywhere, and you just couldn't get rid of the smell of bitterness. Envy was strewn all over the floor, and there were spots of jealousy all over the walls. Worse, it was cluttered with anxiety and you couldn't walk very far before tripping on some form of burden or other. It was really such a mess. There were stains of sin on everything, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't wash those stains away. You can imagine the state I was in. Everyday, coming home to a heart like this. Sure, some days you could actually tolerate living in such an e ... Read more »

'Chosen volunteers
We have lift off!'
A relentless propulsion into tomorrow -
Irreversibly awesome.

Thrust by a mighty hand
Into new dimensions of reality,
Cocooned in crimson armour-plating
Floating in impenetrable stillness.

At our feet the world abandoned,
Familiar memories and old ways
Left behind, growing distant,
Seen now through a glass darkly.

Freed from downward pulls
New gravity forms between us.
We reach out to draw others close,
To unite in love's embrace.

Now together, flying sonwards
Irresistibly compelled by dazzling beauty.
We plunge into a heart of holy love
To live, eternally consumed by fire.

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or th ... Read more »
